    .

Finished planting the last drill of potatoes today and then off to the football (they lost) what more could a man ask for?

The frost must have worked wonders on the soil structure as it was very fariable, not it's usual state.

Have some Hipsi cabbage and Saladin jettuce ready to plant out, under corrugated plastic cloches to help them on their way, but also to keep the pigeons and pheasants off them to they get established!

All that is required is some heavy rain for now!

    Cheers!

    Nice one MB,

Turned the compost heap(s) dug over a bit of the remaining plot, planted out some dwarf lop eared french beans & then went fishing.

Only caught crabs, but like you say, what more:thumbsup:

It doesn't take much to please us fella's does it!!? You planted potatoes, your team lost, Makka; Ziggy did some planting, dug the compost, and only caught crabs on his hook. I sowed some runner beans, rocket, salad leaves, then I got a bargain buying another Paeony for my collection for £4.99p and ended the day with a smile on my mug - it just doesn't take much to please us fella's!!

I dug some more bed over this morning in readiness for getting main crop spuds in this week, offered some help to another plot holder for Monday and was surprised to be told I'll be given some raspberry plants in return.

Did some wallpapering in the afternoon.

    Steve...:)

That made me smile Steve, the daughter in law was given an allotment late last summer, which the last plot holder hadn't touched in years.

The biggest problem we have had is digging out raspberry bushes that have taken over.:parsnip:

They are so deep rooted that they keep popping up all over the place:DOH:

The trouble is, Makka, that "wimmin", no matter how we protest, are the power behind the throne. I hate to say this [and fella's will hate me for saying it] but the female gender is smarter {streetwise], more intelligent and tougher than us guys. The saying that "women are not from this planet" could be true!, as well "Behind every war there's a woman" - now is the time for me to duck and disappear into a Witness Protection Program"!

    For me: (female)

A day in the garden or allotment followed by a glass or two of wine and that's my perfect day.
