Does sausage making count as a hobby?
We are getting more adventurous and they are very popular with guests - make your own sausages then BBQ and eat them. YUM:)

We don't put any bread or rusk in ours:mad: We started to make our own after watching a programme that showed how little meat goes into commercial sausages - I started to read the percentages on the back of the packets and stopped buying them.

This is one of our favourites - madras sausage:

    You need
4lb of skinned and boned belly pork
    3 chopped onions.
    1 table spoon coriander seeds
1 tea spoon of black pepper
1 table spoon of chilli powder
    1 teaspoon of cinnamon
    4 oz of desiccated coconut
1 Heaped table spoon of curry powder
1 level tea spoon of tumeric
A whoosh of salt to taste .

    You..... .
Put the belly pork through the mincer once
Mix all the ingredients and the mince
Put the mixture through the mincer again .
Put all of it into the sausage skins .

We try all sorts, the latest being marmalade sausage:rolleyes:
