    :confused:Hello,

I got very enthusiastic and planted some French climbing beans in my spare bedroom.

They are now huge - leggy, spindly, fairly ugly and I think it may be a tad early to plant them out in my allotment - I am in Glasgow.

I have potted them in bigger pots but fear that they will break soon as they are so long.

What can I do to save them? I can't really bear to loose them. Should I bite the bullet and plant them out and hope that the danger of frost has gone?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers
    Loli.

I was expecting to get any more frost down here. Then again, I'm not too sure about up there!
Are they tied up to poles?

Loli, I would plant them out, but you have to protect them. I would get some fleece from the local gc and throw over them.:thumb:

Put them out now. I'm in Glasgow and have a big selection which are fine outside now.

My beans have not done too well.
Planted them and went away for a few days.

    They are all dead!
Well you live and learn you planted some more...

    Thanks for the help.

Thats a shame Lolibud, I really thought it would be warm enough. Mine have been fine here up in the north. Maybe you just got unlucky with a freak frost or something.

I feel bad now for suggesting putting them out.

I would plant 'em out and also sow a couple of seeds in the same spot as well, then if the plants don't make it you can use the new seedlings, or if they do then just pull the seedlings out.

"also sow a couple of seeds in the same spot as well"

That's a good tip:thumb:. I've got some gaps in my rows were some of them didn't make it, and it would be nice to have had some spares.
