Scampston Hall/walled garden/woodland walk

    Another garden visit today saw us heading North of Malton in N Yorks to visit Scamston. Only 20 odd miles away so an easy journey on the A64.
    Some wonderful autumn colours on show and the parkland walk revealed some lovely vistas of copper beech in autumn colour and a peaceful walk alongside lakes and gardens first laid out by Capability Brown.
    Follows a few images from the 85 I took today.

    This is a Spanish Sweet Chestnut and is one of the biggest in the park. It dates back to the mid 1700s

    Some nice photos there. I quite like the gate, its proportions seem to work very well.

    WoW Caps, Lovely pics, especially pics 3&6 and the gate is Awesome, I would love one like that :)
