    Ive scarified the lawn (120' x 50') and have now ended up with 19 large bags of moss and thatch.

    What can I do with it?
    I do compost everything but Im not sure the compost bins would cope with this amount...

    I'll ave em Gaz:thumbsup::D

    You need a builders dumpy bag, or failing that, make a girt heap of it, it should turn on quite quickly with that amount, soon reduce in volume.

    Do you live anywhere near John ? I think he said he's got some spare dumpy bags.

    I've got some but i'm skint at the moment & cant afford to post you one.:DOH:

      Ive got a dumpy bag, do you mean keep it all the bag until it rots down?

      Nice one Gaz,

      I mean that with that amount of fresh stuff, it should go into bacterial meltdown very quickly. In a matter of days it should get too hot to touch and in about a week it should have shrunk down to a size that you can incorporate it within your normal composting system.

      Thats if it all goes to plan:dbgrtmb:

        Worth a shot, you'll know if its turned on in a couple of days. Stick a metal rod into the middle, if it burns your hand when you take it out then its working:heehee:
