Schefflera (Umbrella Tree)

    We have a Schefflera variegata which t'other half found at our rubbish bins two years ago. It has done well with us living outside in a pot. We were very surprised this evening when watering to discover it is going to bloom ...

    They were a very popular house plant in Alabama when we lived there in the 60s/70s but I have never seen one bloom.

      Gosh, I cannot believe it is almost three months since I posted this ... here is the plant today ... very insignificant indeed ...

        :biggrin: Schefflera is part of the Araliaceae family , same as the fatsia and the ivy ..........

        overall I`ve tasted the shefflera variegata and died at -4c , not even as hardy as the green version
