In moving things around, my Pepper Tree has come to light. It has not done much in the +/- 10 years I have had it. It has peppers but it needs to be filled out. It was cut at the top to restrict height. Can I cut it slightly slicing the top off to bush it out?

I think what you have is a tree wanting to be a tree and you wanting it to stay a large shrub:biggrin:
I've seen large ones and they make nice trees.

I have problems like that all the time, works better on some than others.

Cant say I've had any experience with pruning pepper trees, mine died the second year after planting out.

I think you just go for it, if its needing a prune, do it.
    Doubt you will kill it.

Thanks Pete. The trunk is about two meters tall so not too small, plus in giant pot If T'other Hallf doesn't want to tackle it, I'll wait till Ben the Gardener comes in a week or two to trim the shrubs (Tecomaria, Tecoma Stans, Oleanders) ... I don't 'do' ladders!
