    Daughter has aquired part of an open field in Sussex, has any one advice on what to plant Leylandi...Nnooooo

    hi Rosietu...any ordinary soil will do, but good drainage is important......does she own the plot...is it for boundary ? or growing new stock ? can you be more specific please.

    Dear Ladybird, Yes she will own the plot as from next week, and yes it is well drained, it is a field cut up into portions between neighbours a fair size but I can't tell you the exact measurments but can get them later.

    How about a hedge of mixed natives? or take a look at this for inspiration - pics of the Garden of Cosmic Speculation - its just good old cheap wire fencing, some parts are double thickness in wave patterns wired together.
