I saw this in May 2024 on the Isle of Staffa, West coast of Scotland.
    Sadly no flowers.
I thought at 1st it was Tripleurospermum maritimum..common name sea mayweed..
but zooming in mystery plant looks more succulent.
    Please can anyone help with an id. 003 31-05-2024 14-10-56.JPG 003 31-05-2024 14-10-057.JPG

It looks a bit like marsh samphire (Salicornia europaea)

Thank you for looking and your suggestion however I do not think Salicornia europaea ...common name Marsh samphire is a match.
      It is altogether more rounded./blunter.

Minuartia sedoides....Many thanks for looking and your suggestion Clare G .
Not one I have seen yet.
Your link even has it growing in the right sort of area...."is found on many of the northwestern mountains of the highlands of Scotland and on Skye but not in England, Wales or Ireland."

However having researched it further I believe Minuartia sedoides is more ground hugging, smaller, neater...less branched

I am coming to the conclusion that it must just be a very strong plant of Tripleurospermum maritimum.....common name sea mayweed..
