    Hi

I wanted to search the "Trees" section for topics relating to Oak trees. So I entered 'oak' (and later 'Oak') but no matches were found, so I registered and created a new topic.

I then stumbled onto a second thread about oak tress, and thought I'd try the search again, but it still returns no results.

I can search the term "Pears" and lots of results are returned.

Is it because the search term is too short? or some other reason...?

    Thanks
    Simon

On many boards it's because as you say, the search word is too short.

No one on here will "shout at you" for a duplicated topic. They try not to annoy the customers.
The "powers that be" can probably amalgamate threads, it's not like a board that has a great number of contributors.

 Hi & Welcome to GC.... Maybe we haven't had many questions on Oak trees recently then... Try going into your User CP.... Edit Options....... Scroll down to..... Default Thread Age Cut Off...... Click on the drop down menu & select Show All Threads..... Scroll to bottom of page & save.. Go to Trees.. Then if there are any posts about Oak.. Oak Trees Or Oak tree problems I would think they would show up......... Failing that, just start a new thread in Trees with your question & I am sure you will get an answer quick enough as we have a couple of Arbo' members... :thmb::)
