I occasionally use Secret Seeds to get some of my seeds, had no problems with them at all, good service and a nice website.

And best of all they have a sale on at the moment, many seeds just 50p....:blue thumb:

I know I shouldn't buy anymore seeds but I can't resist and there is still room in the fridge :snork:

Hi Boghopper, I've tried growing various Echiums from seed and always struggled except with pininana (including Snow Tower) which I've always got near 100% germination with. I've always sown them in good seed compost with added perlite and vermiculite and covered them thinly, popped them in a propergator or put the pot in a bag, kept them warm but not too hot and then as soon as they germinated removed the cover. I think it helps to give them plenty of light once they've germinated as they do tend to get leggy and flop over if they 'reach for the light'.

Hope this helps a little, Peters will probably have the expert tips on them for you..

Thanks Mike. The Secret Seeds site has advice on growing from seed and it seems to be similar to yours. I've put the seeds in the fridge for the time being although I reckon the greenhouse won't get much warmer for the next few days! Quite a few of the seeds I've already sown are showing no signs of germination. Why won't it warm up?:dunno:
