Excellent. I'll nip out in a bit and have a look. There's a lot of light pollution here though so might not see much unfortunately.

Yes the light pollution is bad with us, on the other hand its a lovely warm evening and theres no cloud in that part of the sky tonight right now. I haven't spotted any so far, someone at work said 2am was the best time, but I'll be getting my beauty sleep then.

Just been out. There is a big cloud spreading to the north and east from us, so no show for me tonight unfortunately. Hopefully tomorrow will be clear, otherwise I'll have to wait til next year.

I've been watching for 5 minutes and not seen one, and just noticed the moon starting to really light up the sky a bit lower down.

    Should we be looking NE?

That's how I interpreted the rather confusing map on the BBC. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place?

The BBC does imply its NE. I spent a few more minutes last night looking but didn't see one. A colleague saw quite a few though, he said the best technique is to lay down on a lounger or blanket and keep watching as big an area as possible directly upwards, he said the meteors were coming all over not just from the NE. He said that way your eyes gradually adjust to the dark and you don't notice the distracting lighting on the horizon in your peripheral vision.

The weather forecast for us tonight is cloudy though.

Sorry to come into this discussion late, I didn't spot this part of the forum before. I saw about 10-12 here in Northern Ireland (on the 12th) between 11 and 12.15 before it got too cloudy, they were truly amazing. Is there a meteor shower in December as well?
