    Hi all,

My cordylines and foxtail lily have both flowered really well this year (thank you cold winter, I guess!) and now have lots of seeds forming on their flower spikes.

I've never tried growing either of them, so can anyone advise:

    1) are the seeds viable? I have two cordylines, but only one foxtail lily plant.
    2) will the seeds germinate? if so, any special advice, or just put them in some pots and hope?! :tnp:
    3) is it worth growing either of them from seed? some plants are obviously very easy to reproduce from seed, and some are very difficult - whereabouts do these two fall on the scale?

I have had a good google and a search on here, but would appreciate some straightforward GC advice! :D

    Cheers,

    Dave

Well I can only comment on the coryline, it will self sow but you need to keep an eye open as the seedlings look like grass.
I grew my three 18 footers from seed so it is possible.
Although collecting seed is not possible now on mine.
They dont hang about once they get a foot hold.

Thanks Pete, I'll keep my eyes open for any "grass" growing nearby :P
