Hi, complete newbie so apologies if this is a daft question. I've moved to a house which has a big moss problem in the lawn, I'd say 40% is moss. I've applied a killer which is working well and am now about to rake the dead moss out.

Everything I've read says reseed the bare patches, is there any reason why you should seed rather than turf ?

Lots... less preparation with seed and cheaper than using turf, will also match in better.
