These are the seeds that I collected this weekend if anyone would like to have/exchange any, Let me know.

Wild Pear (Pyrus Pyraster) Tree that has become scarce in the UK - usually grows along edge of woodlands or hedges. Small, semi-edible pears (used to make Perrin). Wood is A class - used for fine furniture making. Question as to whether it is indigenous or brought to UK by the Romans. HT (Only about 12 seeds available. so probably packages of 3 seeds).

Mini-Digitalis - this plant was given to me by a neighbour, she has grown it for years. The blossom is pale butter yellow (NO red mark as in Tinkerbell, blossom smaller than Tinkerbell), Ht.of plant 30". HP (unusual for a Digitalis) - dappled sun/shade.

Antirrhinum Black Prince - Dark Velvety red, leaf dark green with purple blush

Dierama Mixed (Angel's Fishing Rods) HB, evergreen strap like leaf to 4', wands (to 6') bell shaped, drooping blossom, pinks to darkest purple. Common name is absolutely appropriate!

Penstemon Husker's Red HP Dappled shade full sun. Lance shaped foliage, deep red, some very dark green. Stems dark burgundy with almost white (faintly faintly purple blush) blossom.

Tomato Earl of Edgecombe Amber yellow, large, very little seed. Excellent taste - tangy sweet. Extremely soft thin skin. Cooked they melt to a smooth puree without removing skins. We make fast pasta sauce with them, they cook down in 15 mins. Fresh they make exceptional tomato sandwiches. I was told that the seed is never sold only traded).

Crown Prince Pumpkin - Silver grey skin, beautiful ambery orange flesh. Perfumey, sweet eating. I think the best flavour of all. Reliable in Edinburgh.

    I am looking for:

    Glycyrrhiza yuannansis
    Elymus Magellanicus

Add your list to this thread so that we can get some trading going.

I think it's a very good idea - I'm just not organised enough yet to join in.... maybe over the winter when I have a spare few hours and no ironing.....

Is that irony or ironing? My policy is to ignore the second! Any other action just encourages more.

Winter is a good time to do a seed sorting. Just in time to begin looking for some more.

Sparkle, I grow Earl of Edgecombe Toms both in and out (the indoor ones are mainly for keeping them completely isolated for the seeds - but also to get to them early!) They do fine out.

Send me your address by email, and I will put them in the post to you. R

Sparkle, I can also help you out with the Arts Pride Echin. - I have just taken some out (too many, in the wrong place, so out they came!)- so I ran out and rescued them off the compost heap last night. If you would like I can post them on to you.

I started to sort out seeds this afternoon, Sparkle. Will finish tomorrow if the weather's still lousy, and let you know about the viola. Haven't forgotten you! :D

    Hi, Sparkle!
I've finally had a good look, and have some violas, and the calendula. I also have some of the physalis type of chinese lanterns - is that the kind you're after? I think the other one is the crinodendron- I have the plant, and could send you a cutting if it's that kind you're after!
Just send me your address, and I'll post them off to you.

Thanks dendrobium what a legend you are!

Don't worry about the crinodendron cutting, I think the other type is what I'm after.

I will PM you my address.
