It is official, I have got old. I have decided to save money and grow some plants from seeds, instead of giving the garden centre loads of money each year for pre propagated plants.

I have got several seed trays on the go (though 'on the go' is probably not the correct phrase to use).

My sweet peas are going mad, fuchsias are doing ok (Once I realised not to water very often), lavender is being slow (though I have been told lavender has a habit of not wanting to get out of bed until the very last minute). I do though have an issue with my pansies, foxgloves etc.

The issue is that they seem to have germinated, and have sprouted up the drone leaves .. ( yes I know they are called cotyledon, but drone leaves sound so much cooler) but they have now stopped there. No true leaves seem to be developing. I just have a bunch of fibre optics cables and drone leaves.

    Am I just impatient ?

They are indoors, in my house. They started with the seed tray lid on until they sprouted and then I took the lid off as I did not want them to get cooked in a solar oven...

I wonder if it's just too hot for them, plants such as Sweet Peas need to be kept much cooler than in a house.

Too early. The heat of the house has got them to germinate and now that they're out they've discovered that there is sod all decent light. As the days lengthen hopefully they will wake up.
