Wyevale in Findern, Derbyshire has just today lowered ALL it's seeds to 50p per packet!!! I bought 10 packets worth £21.66 for £5!!! There were plenty of choices as well, both veg and flowers. I don't know if any of the other Wyevales are doing this but it would be worth checking if you live near one!!! :gnthb:

Just been into my local Wyevale and got £81.59 of seeds @ 50p each - total £21.00 :)

PITA that they were all chucked into buckets, I spent an hour sitting on the floor sorting through finding ones that I wanted :(

I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY LUCK WITH GROWING FROM SEED!!!. THIS YEAR I PURCHASED A PACKET OF SEEDS FROM POUNDSTRETCHERS. THE PACKET SAID,
10,000 SEEDS IN EACH PACKET!!!. I HAD A SPARE BIT OF GROUND ,AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GARDEN,SO I THOUGHT (THAT WILL DO FOR ME) I WILL PLANT THEM IN THERE ,AND I WILL HAVE A GREAT SHOW OF COLOUR????.
I GOT TEN PLANTS OUT OF 10,000 SEEDS (BAD ODDS).
IN THE SHOP THE GARDEN SHELF WAS NEXT TO THE BIRD SEED SHELF!!
I THINK THEY SOLD ME BIRD SEED!!!!!. MUSIC:mad::scratch::hehe:

They've just chucked all the old packets in large tubs. I expect they will be there until they are sold, or the new season's stock comes in.

They still have quite a few but as you say they have all been chucked into bins now so you have to scrounge and dig for the ones you want. At least they have them seperated into 2 bins one for flowers and one for veg..... I can think of worse ways to spend my time LOL!!

"I can think of worse ways to spend my time"

I can think of better ways to spend mine!

If they had been on the original racks I would have been in & out in no time, and the few other people that just grazed the buckets would probably have made a much larger selection.

Only rational I can think of was that all the bar codes had been black-marked out (there were still some seeds available at full price, possibly new season ones, but I don't think so)

So that was a spotty-youth crossing out the barcode on every packet and then chucking it in the bin ...
