On Saturday I was given seeds by a friend. He hasn't a clue as it was his (now deceased) partner's hobby. There are packs of Orange, Purple and White Cosmos,Hollyhocks and Parsnips.

... and the following wrapped in foil ... any ideas?

There is also a pack of Snake Beans ?????

    Thank you in advance.

The first could be more cosmos or marigold?

I'd go along with the first being some kind of daisy like flower.
One sure way to find out.

I think the first one is cosmos too, but there's no way of telling which colour they are (until you grow them and they flower).

Top one looks like the French marigold seeds I collected this year, or maybe Echinacea?

The first one looks like Marigold to me.
Can you smell something @Victoria ?
First I thought it's Lavender/Rosemary but even Marigold have a certain smell.

Thank you one and all. I opened one of the Cosmos packs and think the first one might be Cosmos. I will have a sniff of them when I get up about 9ish.

@pete. I believe you are possibly correct with Mirabilis as the seeds came in two envelopes from "Seeds of Peru" and the one had a picture of Orange Cosmos on it and the other Mirabilis!
I did not have great success with

                  DWARF COSMOS VEGA
                  Cosmos bipinnatus

last year ... lots of ferny leaves and few flowers.

Sorry I took so long to return but I have not been well this morning. :frown:

I cannot smell anything in particular with the first seed but it kooks nothing like the three Marigold lots of seed I have so I will go for Cosmos since the guy seemed fond of them.

                    Thanks again.

A Google lens of the second seeds suggests jasmine.
