Since joining the forum i have become obsessed with looking for the lily beetle on my lillies.Today i found a couple of little brown things that look like apple pips but smaller. They were right near the stem tucked above the leaves.
I just wondered ,are they seeds from the plant perhaps?

I get those but only on my turks cap lilies, don't know if they are seeds, but last year when they finished flowering i got seeds from the pods and they are now growing. Found a few beetles and squashed them horrible things! [IMG]

Not sure what these are, but they are not seeds. Lilies develop their seeds in their pods, not at the base of their leaves.

Where lily beetle is concerned they and they're larva are very easy to spot - besides the fast chewed leaves on the plant. The beetle has previously been described, its bright red, and will normally be found on, or under the leaves. The larva have a delightful habit of covering themselves with their excrement, and appear like a black bird dropping on the leaves.

If you got lilies, there;s a risk of lily beetle. My lily regals were clear for years, then an oriental lily introduction to the garden and they appeared  .

Sorry but all I can see is a piece of white paper!
Some lilies produce tiny bulbs in the join between the leaf and the stem, but it is very early in the season for them and it is usually only in L. lanceolatum and its type (Tiger lilies).
