You're not the only one Clematis. I'm very good at turning on the wrong ring so that the vegetables don't get cooked. Today I forgot to put the ring on completely. Did you know veggies don't cook without heat!

Glad to see I'm not the only one!!!
Trouble is - t'other half is stuffing biscuits now - cos he's "starving".

Think my signature has been proved many times DAG - especially in this household (if we ignore the senior moments) !!

Heat is a marvellous thing Celia - it's when you forget the water that problems start - been there, done that! Makes you want to turn to [IMG]

We all have them, inhouse advisor would probably say I have Senoir days not moments but I can get away with things that way.
Roast was cooking ok and would be ready in about 5 mins .... so I went out in the garden ..... except I forgot to put the veg on, late(r) dinner for us too.

I'm like you Fran, have been having these moments for quite some years, sometimes I'm OK and then I have these blanks as you say MF. I think they happen mostly when too many other things are on the mind.

To give you all a laugh, I have over the years opened the fridge door to put the kettle or iron away - not once, but several times!

Rosa - that could have really turned out bad with leaving the stove on when you went out, good thing that your Senior Moment didn't last too long! If it makes you feel better, I have done that many times but always when we have sat down to eat. Discovered it when doing the dishes afterwards.

Well, this one will have you all in stitches!

Last week I just realised that I hadn't had the renemal form for my car tax. I was just driving to the shops at the time so pulled over and took the tax disk off to check it - and nearly fainted when I found it had expired on 1st March!!

I'd been driving around for SEVEN MONTHS without tax!

Some of you may recall that I had my other car stolen and this was the replacement, bought from the same car lot. Well the other car he'd given me 12 months tax - this one he only gave me 6 and I didn't notice.

So, did my shopping - in double quick time, I might add! - but as I was putting the car away, suddenly realised that if I've had the car 12 months, I'd let the MOT expire as well!!

Happy ending though. The DVLA in Swansea and in Newcastle were both really nice about it and a good friend dropped everything to run me over to the Newcastle office so I could pay the arrears and get a new tax disk. Oh yes, and my local garage chappie did my MOT in double quick time so I could!

    Phew!

What got me was when I said to my sister I'd let her know how I got on just in case I needed someone to look after the cats while I was inside and she just said "Oh, okay!"

Mrs.DAG don't drive, and when she goes shopping locally she ties the shopping trolley to her wrist!
She is fed up with arriving home with shopping bags and having to go back for the trolley!!! :D :D

Also she often puts her purse in the fridge! :D

Me, I have done this sort of thing all my life so it's not just a senior moment!

Talking to a chap in his 20's the other day who said that he often gets half way up the stairs and can't remember whether he is going up or down!!! What chance have I got? :D :D

Trouble is - when you get in a room or whatever and forget what you have gone there for - a really silly look appears on your face, so anyone around at the time knows what has happened.

MD I did the same thing once with my car tax - I was only 6 months out of date though. I was convinced I hadn't received the reminder but then found it in my car details file - at least I file things away - just unfortunately don't deal with them first. I was really lucky 'cos the Police had been doing spot checks on tax at the time. Mind you, when I took the forms to the PO they said the record was held by someone locally who had been running round for 11 months with no tax!
