Just to let everyone know that Sheal is having problems with her Broadband connection due to the fact that the landline in the Cottage she is renting, until she finds her new House, has technical issues not likely to be resolved until the beginning of November. So she passes on her regards to everyone and will be back as soon as she can.

Thank you for letting us know Our Mandy

Going to be difficult for Sheal with no connection: not only missing out on her cyber friendships, but it must also impact on her house hunting and skyping her family.

Please pass on my very best wishes and I hope she is back in the world of the internet sooner rather than later. :grphg:

That's going to be a pain for Sheal. There are some areas in remote Scotland which are a bit iffy when it comes to Broadband altho they are getting less and less. Hope she gets sorted soon, as "M" rightly says she is not on holiday per se and having good internet/phone connections will be important to her. Pass on my best please. At least, she hopefully has been enjoying the gorgeous sunny and dry weather we have had since she moved over to the mainland.

Hi everyone, I'm currently coming to you courtesy of Costa. :) Thanks for your kind words but don't think you can misbehave while I'm away, I'll have my beady eyes on you now and again. :snorky:

Yes, I'm currently renting a cottage but the previous tenant hasn't released the telephone line and has disappeared into the ether! :doh:I won't be back with you until the beginning of November when the line can be released.

No need to reply to this as it'll be a while before I can check in with you all again. I hope you are all well and holding the fort until I get back. Best wishes everyone and I'll catch up with you again soon. :)

@fat controller I'm going to be cruel......Pete and I bought a new car yesterday but you have to wait for the next instalment from me to find out what it is. :)

Glad you are OK @Sheal, just a shame that you can't get your phone etc sorted thanks to the thoughtless actions of the previous tenants.

I wish you well with the new car too, despite the fact that you are committing the heinous crime of 'Cruelty to a Petrolhead' - we shall discuss sanctions at some point in the future..... ;) :snork:

Oops! I thought that might upset you @fat controller, sorry! Hmmm, the sanctions are a bit worrying. :th scifD36: :)

We're picking the car up Tuesday and I'll reveal it next time I manage to hit the airwaves. I hasten to add it's not a Qashqai although we've visited both Ford and Nissan dealers. I'm a bit perturbed we may have bought a computer not a car, it's going to take me a while to get my head round the dashboard after plodding along with an eight year old Clio. I think your 'on-board car' computer skills may be called on at some point! ;)

Only two more weeks to wifi! I'll be glad to get back amongst you all but enjoy the peace while I'm away. :snorky:

You're a sweetie @fat controller. :) Now I'm going to get strong words from everyone else having said that!

Christmas has come early for you, we've bought a Juke. The basics......it's a two year old N-Tec with a couple of add-on's, 15,000 miles on the clock, 1.6L petrol. The colour I'd call graphite (it's a mid grey) if it had been silver it would have remained on the dealers forecourt! My apologies to anyone I offend, I can't stand silver cars!

All is going pretty well here but still struggling with the wants of 'kyc' from various places including opening a new bank account. You wouldn't believe the issues we've had. The Isle of Man has been a stumbling block of course, everyone that lives/lived there is either rich or a money launderer. I hasten to add they're not and neither were we!!!:)

Right, time to check out of Costa. Bye for now everyone. :grphg:

N-tec is a nice trim level - just the right amount of kit without costing a bomb. 15,000 miles is almost run in (and no, I am not kidding), and the 1.6 is the pick of the crop for petrol (the 1.2 has had a lot of reliability issues). Sounds like you chose well :)

Oh, and I am with you on silver cars - they were notorious back home for going invisible in bright sunshine in the countryside; the amount of silver cars that you would hear about being involved in a smash where someone had pulled out of a junction in front of the silver car and were adamant that they simply hadn't seen the silver car coming was remarkable. I had a silver Rover years ago, and my experiences with that suggest that this is indeed the case (thankfully, the brakes on mine were good!)
