just re felted roof a few hours ago and we have had a big downpour and there is a pool of rain in my shed :( dont know what to do to stop it, the roof looked bowed in middle to me, as second hand and not that new, as most will of seen pics in other topic i did about shed, i put bitamin between the overlaps and used proper nails and put them close together about 10 cm apart and didnt think rain would get through :(

Do you have the nails showing? if so, that's most likely your problem. Rain is getting in beside them.

You'd normally nail the underfelt to the roof and stick the top layer felt onto the underfelt.

You can get a rubberised emulsion paint, that you can put on. It works quite well. I did this for a summerhouse roof. The paint would go over the nails and seal them. But is seems a shame to have to do this with a newly felted roof.

As said above, the felting wasn't done right... it should have been nailed on the underfelt, and the top felt just sits on top of that, nailed at the edges. It'll stick.

Still, what's done is done. I'd go with Peter's suggestion of the rubberised paint, and let that leak into the gaps.

I've read your whole thread about the shed, you really shouldn't worry about these things, you got a very cheap, and very nice shed. Your worries about extra expenses etc don't bump it up much... it's still an awesome shed!

Can you post a picture of the roof?

Ive felted dozens of sheds, summerhouses etc. I don't bother with undderfelt and simply use top quality mineral top sheet, work from the base of the roof up so each sheet overlaps the next by 8", ends nailed, folded and cut. Nailed every 4"

Never had one leak, did you use felt mails? to be honest it isn't rocket science, a picture should pinpoint were yove gone wrong.

Heres the roof on my workshop, felted five years ago, no underfelt just decent top sheet nailed properly, still good as new:

Good quality mineral felt...a 10" overlap and 2" every nail will be perfect. Any future maintenance can be resolved using a liquid rubberised application as suggested by PeterS.

will post pic of roof 2moz, its a pent shed, i think its called?

i think the rain is coming in through a couple of gaps somehow by the nails, i used clout nails, maybe if i put another lot of felt on roof but be more careful on the angle they go in :(
