    A few pics of Sherborne Castle although the 'Castle' ruins are closed to the public (probably H&S) the large house is but not a very imposing structure. Built for Sir Walter Raleigh but he only lived there for nine years as after that he was imprisoned and later executed for treason. The grounds are the main feature as they were landscaped by Capability brown.

            I only got a quid off!

            Loli, when you think of the smallish size of trees he was planting it shows that he was thinking a hundred years or more ahead as far as some of the vistas go.

              @strongylodon ..Isn't it marvellous to have such vision ...when I plant a tree it does feel a little depressing knowing I won't be around to see it in all it's glory ,selfish I know,but I live in hope that people will appreciate it as much as we do now..Who knows maybe Mr Brown thought the same:blue thumb:
