If the snow is dry and uncompacted try using a garden vac set to blow.
Today we awoke to another inch of the stuff covering the paths I'd cleared last week. I dug out the vac and gave it a blast and it worked pretty well. It was much easier than brushing or shovelling.

We've had a bit more snow down here than you dave so the blower - if I had one - prbably wouldn't work! I've just cleared the drive - for the third time this month :( using my home made snow "shovel". A length of redundant wooden curtain pole and a square of thick ply. The effect of scraping it on the tarmac gives it an edge, so its easy to shift icy patches.

The drive is steep. Here's a pic looking up in summer, a second, this winter and third, looking down, a couple weeks ago.

Dave - Thanks for the garden vac tip . With all the neighbours we have just cleared our street of an 8" snow fall on Friday. A couple of them had snow shovels. Now these are the best thing ever for clearing soft snow. Far better than the garden spade I was using , which is pretty useles for clearing snow. This is my next purchase- that is when they are back in stock at the sheds.
