Some members have asked me to do a series on my travels. So I thought it best to put their links all into one place.

We like to travel to a lot of different places and, if possible, see things off the beaten path or just the way people live, or lived. Ancient sites and more remote places are our favourite but big cities can also be interesting. Natural beauty and countryside are another of our favourites.

Some of these threads I posted quite a while ago and I'm trying to remember what others I have done. The one on 'Deserts' will contain photos from a variety of other topics.

    I hope to, eventually, do 30 - 40 threads. :)

I had looked at most of these earlier in the year and they are very interesting, thanks Shiney. :dbgrtmb:

Super sets of photos Shiney. Thanks for taking the time (must have taken ages) to sort, comment and post.

              Thanks everyone,

Yes, Dave, it takes time but sorting the photos is quite a pleasure as they bring back memories (it will be easier to arrange now that the forum allows the posting of 12 shots at a time instead of six) . The problem is making sure the memories are correct! Then it's organising what to say and how to say it :).

Now that the nights are drawing in and the days are damp and murky, I shall try and get my mind in gear to continue. I was thinking of carrying on around S. America (Devil's Island, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Patagonia), then go on to Central America (Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico), then across the Caribbean Islands (visiting New Orleans shortly after Katrina) and on to Africa, Asia and Australasia, but I think I'll make a complete change and do Hawaii (officially Hawai'i :heehee:) next. :blue thumb: That will be a long thread!

                  Thanks very much. :blue thumb:

I've been rather remiss in not continuing the threads. I hope to get back into doing so.

is there a rule that says we have to put a like in posts that we like...? Well then

No, of course not :), but it helps to show that the thread or post has been seen. :blue thumb:

I try to update some of the holidays or add new ones but it takes quite a bit of time to pick the photos that tell a story and to write, accurately, about them. We've travelled through over sixty countries in the last fifteen years (since I retired) and remembering the details and checking them also takes time.

My last update was the Hawai'i thread in April.

I'm rather busy preparing for Open Day at the moment. :phew:
