Congratulations Everybody, we're half way through the Dark

 

I always feel we've turned a corner when this day comes around. Especially so if, like me, you work outside all day.

Already, the snowdrops and aconites are poking their heads above ground, the hens have started laying again after their autumn moult and just this morning I noticed the first of my autumn sown broad beans peeping through in the vegetable plot.

And the daylight increases in intensity, and it gets warmer, and plants start to grow again, and clear blue skies with fluffy white clouds return, and, and ........


And don't forget it's also Yule today.

 

Do get excited people, we possibly still have bad weather heading our way, remember earlier this year

Our 45th anniversary today. Forty five years ago we were on a train from Stirling to Aviemore for a two night honeymoon in a hotel. Couldn't afford the hotel dinners so sneaked out to the chipper and smuggled fish suppers back to our room.
