I'm starting off by saying no, although he has served time he has probably completely wrecked somebody's life, don't see why he should just take up where he left off.!!

      In good faith...
I think he's done his time, so he should be allowed to get on with it. Whether or not one thinks he got what he deserved is beside the point. AFAIC, 'society' has had it's way.

I think as a professional footballer and a role model to all the youngsters ,I say he should not play professional football ever again.

He is appealing the verdict. I don't think he should have tried to get back into football until he was cleared (if he is) nor should clubs have tried to sign him until the appeal is heard. If he is cleared then of course he should be allowed back into football. If he's not then he's in a catch 22. He can't show remorse for his crime, as he's still saying he's innocent, therefore he can't be 'rehabilitated' and allowed to live a relatively normal life. If he is innocent then he's been badly advised as he's set himself up to being judged by internet mob rule. If he's not cleared on appeal then he won't get to play again. This whole case makes me uncomfortable to be honest

Me too. If his appeal is upheld then yes, if it ruled against then no, so it's a maybe from me too.
If he is guilty he should still be doing time.

              Please don't misunderstand...
If he did what he was convicted of, then I think he got off lightly. However, 'society' has decided his sentence/term, like it or not. I guess I don't like lynch mob rule...

If he had been a dustman would he be able to get his job back, or would he be on the dole for the rest of his life.
                Was he a good footballer?
                Never heard of him.
                Was he a role model?
As far as I'm concerned he was just another footballer, and there are thousands of them.

Not sure what club it was now, but when that runner who had a stand named after her said she would want her name removed if they employed him.

Personally I'd have her name removed now even though they didn't employ him.
Its black mail, the honour to her was having the stand named after her, not so she could have a say in who they employed.
Its all got out of hand again.
