    Hydro

Did you leave the plant in from last year ??

No leave alone as it will produce lots of new shoots which will look realy lovely in a clump , if you dont mind me saying but they look like they need a feed and a good mulch they are realy hungry plants even a load of compost good 3/4 inches thick will help.

Yes to the bonemeal put this on the soil , plus a tomato food drink once a week in a full watering can , you done well to keep it over the winter all the rest of us dig them up like a dahlia tuber, Armandii kitchen looks like Kew Gardens over the winter and early spring with all of his , if leaving in again this winter (I woudnt recomend) get a bag of bark chips this keeps the harder frost out as well I do this with my daylilys to keep them snug over winter.

You must have very well drained soil as well , if it was clay I doubt it would of survived they hate sitting in water it rots the tuber ? or is iit called somthing else begining with R ?

Go out and buy a cheep bag of compost and tip the lot on and spread around water 1st after you have put the compost on water again B&Q ARE DOING 3 FOR £10.00

I know it seems a lot of work but the pay back will be worth it

      Nag nag :sofa:

Thanks, Imm realy jelous of your Pattys Plum its the best coloured one I have ever seen it even put Carole Kleins to shame when I was at a show a couple of years ago I had this one at least 10 years ago before any one knew about it, when I bought it didnt even have a label it was written on the side of the pot in permanent marker pen .... its so easy from root cuttings , I did have one called black and white it was stunning oh happy days just thought should of put this on the other thread

Hydro as long as it gets a feed and a water every week from you all it needs then is sunshine , its got all summer to grow plenty of time to go , the biggest ones I evergrew I had tipped 3 barrow loads of horse muck ontop of the Canna bed they went crazy and all flowerd I had one called (Anthony & Cleopatra) one of my favourites , following year they caught the Canna virus and they were doomed I had a about 10 diffrent varieties I have never botherd since , but Jungle seeds have a good selection if they have any left all virus free . I have more space in the spare bedroom now used to be full of bin bags of Canna's, and Musa Bajoo and other things ....
Maybe next year , wait and see ........

I've bought from Jungle Plants - not cheap, but good quality plants.

Also worth a look is Hart Canna http://www.hartcanna.co.uk/ rubbish website, but also guaranteed virus free.
