Inspired by several recent threads and comments, I figured that perhaps there should be a thread related to recycling and the like.
Here are a few things that I have recycled.

A very simple firepit made from the drum of an old washing machine. These work very effectively as a fire pit and give all round heat through the series of holes.

A simple double sided grid for sandwiching meat together on a BBQ. This is made from two old cooker shelves that I have wired together.

A BBQ made from an old children's swing, a steel shelf and a bit of reinforcing mesh.

A simple garden work bench made from wood pulled from a bonfire. The stainless steel top is from an old cooker. Shown in same photo are some plant supports made from water pipe and old pallets.

An old set of garden furniture that had been discarded at the back of a garden. (If you don't ask, you don't get)

Some old Victorian path edgings that I found under a load of brambles. Now put to good use.

A very simple bench made from wood that again was on a bonfire.

    More to follow shortly.

You're right, and it's usually too hot or too cold. You need a cushion. (Not a stone one.;) )

This shed was constructed using material that I had gathered up from various jobs that I had been on. This included two brand new windows, and the reclaimed clay roof tiles. The wood was either pulled from the firewood pile, or in the case of the weather boarding, not good enough quality to put on jobs with paying customers. That is one aspect of my job that niggles me. I have to allow an approx 10 percent wastage on weather board.
The only cost was for the ballast and cement to make the base. This was approx £60.00

To the rear of the shed is this logstore. Again it is made from waste wood, and the roof is part of an old industrial unit.

And no that isn't me in the photo, it's my nephew! I hadn't noticed that before.:thud:

Yet another very heavy and large oak garden work bench. Once again made from wood destined for the fire.
This may end up in our BBQ area, but that somehow seems a waste.

You never cease to amaze me Eddie. You've obviously got a very busy and talented mind. If I was to reclaim anything I wouldn't know what to make it into, I'm not that clever. :)

The ultimate bit of recycling. I was sold an out of date sausage roll a very long time back, so did something with it and emailed the photo as a bit of sarcasm to Ginsters.
