    Hi there,

I've lived in my home for over 10 years but never really made an attempt at making a positive change to the garden. Every year it's more or less fire fighting of weeds and the mowing the lawn.

So call it 'mid life crisis' but I've really take to gardening over the past few weeks and am really want to put my own stamp on my mature garden.

It is West facing with Sandy ph Neutral soil and generally gets good sunshine.

I've been looking through books trying to plan for the right shrubs and flowers for Spring and Summer colour, but I find myself looking at individual plants and trying to work out 'layers' by plan height and spread.

But surely there must be some website which contains a planning tool ?
It would be great to punch in Sandy soil, West Facing, Sunny , Hardiness and perhaps a colour combination and it to come back with back , middle and front plant recommendations ?

I hope this makes sense. Does any such website exist ?

Any tips would be most welcome.

    Thanks in advance
