Shrub Recommendation

Hi

I am looking for some recommendations on what shrub to plant.

I have a gap of about 3 feet between a huge and established hydrangea and a bushy lavender plant, i planted an azalea but it did not do well so i replanted it in back garden where it is now looking good. The soil is neutral and the space is pretty shaded due to the hydra.

Any recommendations? The hydra has purple flowers but im not fussy on colour just want a hardy shrub that will look good and survive in this space!

Hi lunagirl, Leucothoe fontainesiana 'Scarletta' should do the job.
