Yeah, I'm sick of it alright:mad:

My Runner Beans are up to around 2ft tall, and slug damaged(to say the least!). My outdoor Toms look like I've poured weedkiller over them. My Carrots have 'stopped', at around an inch tall. The spuds are looking feeble, but yesterday I dug some up thinking that normally I'm digging them up from mid June, you guessed it, no bigger than marbles. In fact, it's all a pile of cack. Even my Dahlias (which are normally in flower at this time) are struggling. On the upside, the weeds are doing ok, so not a total loss eh?
    :gaah:
Oh good, it's just started raining again. All it needs now is a good heavy frost, and then we can all start thinking of next year:yes::mad:

Yep, everything I put out just gets eaten by slugs overnight, the Tomatoes are just sitting there doing nothing.

Won't be entering the Melplash show this year as,

      A. I've got nothing to put in it.

      B. I've fallen out with my Sis.

      C. Dai isn't here to tell me what i'm doing wrong (Someone go & get him back, he won't listen to me now i'm "workin for de Babylon")

Well, this is my first year in nearly 20 years that I've decided to actually try to grow a wide range of food crops.

My onions are, I think, way behind. Not bad, just like big spring onions. They're never going to be proper big onions by next month. Not a chance.

The taties, the one crop I almost always grow, were ok but yield wasn't great.

The leaf beet, I think it should be further on but its doing ok to be honest.

Courgettes, toms, chillis, not a great deal happening there.

Peas, I can't understand it. Peas are easy peasy. There's a few pods there but they're just taking forever to fill out. I'd have thought with all the wet weather they'd fill out faster than usual.

We also had some runner beans coming up, but the slugs and birds have robbed most of them.

We did get one strawberry each today though, so not all bad.

I'm beginning to think this is the worst possible year that I could have started the self sufficiency drive. But we live and learn.

                Guys no worries .
The UK imports about 90% of its fruit and 60% of its vegetables ......considering that Spain , France , Italy and Greece are facing drough and temperature of 40/45 celcius and losing all crop.....our kids will be really happy that they will have to eat broccoli for a while :blue thumb:.
Not finished yet, apparently we are having an invasion of Spanish slugs , up to 4 inches and able to eat an entire lattuge in one night .

and we are expecting more rain for the next 2 weeks .......amazing.

It`s too late now , but i would love to post somepictures of seedling that have been seeded in March and didn`t even grow more the 2 inches and I`m talking about giant plants , we should create a thread and amaze each other.
