    Hi everyone

I have a plant in my garden which is a vigorous grower and I'm not sure if it's a plant or shrub. Would anyone be able to ID it for me from these pics?
Thanks in advance Silver tree.jpg img 3.jpg img 3.jpg img 5.jpg

Could you possibly add another pic to this thread to show other leaves.
To id a shrub from the growing buds is hard.
Is that a recent pic? In which case it must be evergreen?
From the speckled nature I wonder if it could be an Elaeagnus sp.
The leaves of which are alternate on the twig.
But that is a just a guess.

Silver Surfer. You're guess was correct. It's an Elaeagnus ‘Quicksilver

    Phew!
Elaeagnus Quicksilver is a lovely shrub...BUT it is a right nuisance for sending out suckers. Often a long way from the adult plant.
If it is in a bed with small plants it can get to be an absolute menace.

Well it's in the middle of my (tiny) front garden right beside black bamboo with all it's suckers!! Any ideas about pruning? Right now, it's about 2m high.

If it sends a sucker into the middle of your black bambee you will have a hard job to remove it.
Tough as old boots do what ever you want to it. But you could spoil the shape.
Left on its own it will get quite tall.
Not the right shrub for the position it is in.
Maybe donate it to a friend!

P.S. Your 1st pic cannot have been taken this week.. which was what confused me.
Whilst the young bud pics are recent.
If you post id questions in the future can you provide info as to when pics have been taken.
All are clues to giving correct id's
      Thanks.

Thanks SS. Yes the idea was to donate but I needed to identify it first. Sorry about not labelling correctly.
