    Hi
I've just joined as I was looking for some ideas for my garden. At the moment we have hardly any attractive plants in the garden - we have 4 kids and 3 dogs enough said. I would like to add some colour but I need something that is fairly resistant to footballs and fangs!!! I love cottage garden type plants but wondered if they would be too delicate. Any suggestions would be great.

    Hi Freespirit

I started with lupins, foxgloves(POISONOUS) and hollyhocks in my cottage garden. Cottage plants resistant to footballs and fangs are called lawns!!! Good luck.

I would be tempted to look into some of the tougher shrubs, and leave the delicates until the footballs have passed. Maybe go for a more cottage look in the front garden?
