My simple pleasure is lying on the couch right now with my four cats spreadeagled around the house after their weekly treat of steamed cod fillets.

Two are defying the laws of gravity on the couch, one is on the rug in front of the log fire and no.4 (who is the latest member of the former waifs and stray society) is discovering the delights of the electric blanket on my bed.

The simplest and most plesurable things are indeed free. Sitting back and watching nature in action is my fix, boring to some, humbling to me.
Sitting in a cafe people watching with a coffee in hand, fascinating.

The simplest things for us are going for nice long walks in the countryside, preferably without hordes of people cars and coach parties that always seem to spring up from nowhere. We love watching the trees blowing in the wind and the sound of the skylark high above and if we are lucky we can sit down by the side of a stream and just watch the water as it finds it's way down to the rivers...Bliss

Getting "lost" in nature, be it in the mountains or by the sea, especially when you are with someone you love.

Watching my cats gives me enormous pleasure and often I find I am smiling for unknown reasons.

The smell of thr rain on the ground after a dry spell.
A suprise hug and "I do love you, Grandad" from my g-daughter.
The waves crashing on the shore during a gale.
Sitting on the patio with my MBH on a warm summer's evening, glass in hand, watching the stars peep out, one-by-one

    What a super thread T&O.

    Mine/ours are -
    1. - Watching the garden change through the seasons, which we can do almost daily.
    2. - Escaping from home and phone and walking or cycling in the wilder parts of Scotland, which we manage to do fairly frequently.
    3. - Being totally laid-back and catching up with old friends in a small village on a Greek island - which we manage at least once a year.
    5. - The first home grown tomato of the year which never comes soon enough!

We keep saying to ourselves - "We're so lucky, lucky, lucky."

all my pleasures are simple, I believe...
    Just a matter of choosing.
For example a sewing project which ends up beautifully or snapping an item at the last minute on ebay (my speciality).
