i purchased 5 x bare root single stem fruit trees from Gardening Express in June. The apple and cherry trees have leafed up nicely but the pear and peach are still dry bare wood with no green on them or signs of life. The pear did have a few odd leaves on it but they just wilted and dropped off. Is there any way of telling whether these two trees will grow or should I assume they are dead?

Hi. Bought four dwarf fruit trees from them at Easter. The pear was the last the 'flourish' - all are now lovely. Not sure how to care for them though. They are in containers but growing wildly. They are next on my list to research after I plant potatoes, and work out what my butternut squash are doing, and decide whether to proceed with my melons!

Hope they 'cheer up' and come good. I am sure some someone on here will have some brill suggestions.

This is my second year doing butternut squash. Last years plant was like a triffid and grew as high as the garage. It had lots of flowers and then there were winds and lots of rain. I got around 6 squash off it in the end. This year my hubby has built me a tripod that is around 7'. All is going well so far.

Hi kazzawazza. I think I bought the same collection as you. I called gardening express up last week as my peach and cherry seem to have come dead. They said to just send them back and they will send me new ones. Call them and see if they will do the same for you, they told me that all of them should be showing growth by now.
