I had the same thought this morning when I read that. Was out of prison 3 weeks before getting caught again bashing heads and robbing and they stick him in an open bloody prison?!

It is utter nonsense that someone like that be taken to an open prison.. :yikes: We have an open prison not a million miles from us and every now and then we here of one that has absconded, but we are usually told about them as far as I know... Prisoners are usually sent there just before their release... Why this prisoner was allowed there I shall never know....
I don't know what this world is coming to anymore... Well apart from the massive downhill slide we are all experiencing......!:mute:

The problem is we're to soft in this country, if I had my way I would have them doing hard labour, no TV and still slopping out, its a disgrace. I know they've lost there liberty but your in prison to be punished.
I think life should be life if your sentenced to a life sentence there should be no parole no early release and definitely no open prison.
          I think I've just pocked a stick in a wasp's nest.

Not at all Ian. Why shouldn't a punishment suit a crime? Seems only fair to me

They have to let some escape. We can't build more prisons without great cost and public objections, and you can't just go stuffing more and more people into existing ones, because it just wouldn't do give each prisoner less than the minimum required floor space.
