Sleep tight Hilda

    When i got home from work this afternoon Mr Lolimac informed me that poor old Hilda 'top chook' had died:cry3:She was a grand old girl and sadly age caught up with her.Mr L left the 'ceremony' bit to me as he knew i'd want to say my own cheerios to her .Bless her heart.Never thought i'd get so attatched to my girls.

    Sorry to hear about it, lolimac. It's strange how attached you get to animals without realising it and then when you do lose one the sadness catches you out. At least you can tell yourself that she led a good and happy life because of your care.:D

          Sorry to hear that Lolimac.
          We lost our oldest one a couple of months ago, she was our old faithful Rhode Island Red, about 6 or 7 years old.
          As Armandii says, it's easy to become attached to them isn't it?
          You can be happy in the knowledge that she didn't spend her life shut in a tiny cage or cooped up in a sunless shed with thousands of other birds.
          I'm sure she had a contented life.

          Thanks Trunky,sorry you lost your oldie too...They're such characters aren't they.Your right we do give them a lovely life and they repay us generously with thier scrumpsious eggs..:)
