I went to Slimbridge yesterday to see the Winter wildfowl, a three hour journey.
There are thousands of overwintering birds there some from Siberia, particularly the Swans and Geese.

Many birds were a long way out near the River Severn estuary and not as close as last year's visit.
    Common Cranes.

White Fronted Geese, (the white is on the beak!).

I saw this in today's paper and thought of you @strongylodon . I could see you heading up a pest control business with your knowledge of wild fowl. :dbgrtmb:

"Looks like a staff meeting at the Vergenoegd Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The Indian runner ducks, in case you doubt us, have replaced pesticides in the vineyards on the estate and are tasked with eating all the snails and bugs they can find during their daily rounds. Aside from the free food, it's unclear how much the ducks are being paid per hour, though you can bet they're not getting a 30 per cent increase anytime soon."[IMG]

Yes I can imagine it could be very tiring to do it all in one day, especially with all the driving too.
