There are also the popular brands of Miracle Gro and Osmocote which are now owned by the same company.

We generally buy whatever appears to be a good deal at the time.

I also use Westland slow release . You can buy a 2kg tub for £5.99 from Wickes , Homebase etc. The other makes seem to be about £6 for 1 kg. I dont know if its good or bad because I have always used it :D
I also use liquid fertlisers every now and then when the plants get going. I am not sure if you do need liquid fertliser as well as the pellets.

I have also been using Westlands Feed-ALL slow release in my containers for a couple of seasons now.
Its reasonably priced and seems to work fine.

Its a good point. How would we know? :(

I'm a casual plant-feeder. I do it when I remember. I have no recollection of thinking "Crickey! that's shot up / is burgeoning with flowers / is the sweetest tasting I have ever eaten", so whatever feeding I am doing is not changing the world!

Other people always have larger, tastier, more healthy looking plants than me ... so what are THEY using / doing I ask myself?
