    I totally dislike slugs and can't bear to touch or squish them :( but the slugs around our garden are brown. We went for a walk along a woodland track today after the rain and the track was covered with jet black slugs:eek:

    Nasty, nasty, nasty :eek::eek::eek:

    We get this debate every few months My own view is, take no prisoners. Kill. That's what they do to your plants.

    "Save the slug"

    Killing is brutal! Relocating is the best option - let them roam free in the wilderness miles from you garden, away from your succulent and tender foliage!

    Some slugs are beneficial - helping the composting process, wont touch anything that's not already decaying. You could be killing a friend!!!

    The only good slug is a dead one!
    If you don't keep them under control your garden will be over run by them and there's nothing worst than slipping on one under bare foot...well maybe standing on dog poop but that's another matter :eek:. Hel.xxx.

    We used to have about 50 free-range ducks and all the neighbours used to throw their snails over to them as they waddled up the fields :) Unfortunately we couldn't let them loose in our garden to deal with our slugs because our dog would consider them a meal. We also have a naughty terrier who has learnd how to despatch hedgehogs :(

    Exactly what I was about to say! Maybe nextdoor-but-one, don't want them making their way back!

    On a more practical note I have just got back from a shopping expedition. 2 things I bought were some Tesco value lager 4 440ml cans for just under £1, for my beer traps, and 800gm of Wilko's own slug bait, on special at £1.39. I also got some garlic butter for any snails I may nobble.:D
