HI. I noticed today that a couple of my cacti which are on an indoor window sill are covered in minute little white sausage shaped creatures. They are too small to see whether they have legs or not but they are crawling around. They look smooth, very white and are about 2mms long. ANyone know what they are and how I can get rid of them?

A pic would be no good as they are so tiny.I've never seen anything like them before on any other plants and wonder whether they are specific to cacti?

I call them little feckers !!! they eat away inside your lovely cactus until it flops over having been consumed from the inside. I bought one reccently that clearly had them in already, I just hope the others are ok. I am keeping them in drought conditions for a while as they may have been over watered in store and encouraged infestation. They were are you described like tiny white moist belly crawlers.

Oh great. I have millions of the little feckers! The cactus thats most infested has the most amazing big orange buds which are about to open at any moment too. I'll keep mine in drought conditions for a while and see what happens.

Got to admit that I have never come across anything like this. Cacti wise, that is.
Just a thought, but cacti, although they need water, should always really be in drought conditions.
