I cant really see why you would want to send a text to someone and not let them know your number.

If you expect to get a reply to your text, the recipient's phone will need the number that it came from.
If I received a text with no indication of who/what number it came from I would assume it was a scam or some such thing and just delete it.

Very mysterious. Just did a quick google, and it looks like there are online services which will let you send anonymous SMS messages. My search was "online sms anonymous".

Just made a call to our other mobile phone with the number withheld option and it comes up on the other phone as " private number".
Then sent a Text and Yes the received text does contain the sending phones number.
As other have said its not an option folk would normally want to hide.

Don't forget you can readily block ( or unblock) any unnwanted incoming phone calls on smart phones or block spam messages/texts.
Your user guide will show you how to do that, or just look on Ytube where there are loads of quick guides to many functions for your phone/model.

        You are welcome.

We don't bother with surveys either, just ignore / delete them.

Its the same when you order online / emails, just delete them or look for the small text at the bottom of their page that says "unsubscribe" - it usually works.
