I got the email today saying there is a Smith period alert in my area.

It's my first year with spuds and talk about panic when you see the warning. Heart leapt into mouth, stomach where heart once was, bottom where stomach was! Don't want to tell you the potty depths my mouth sunk to...

So what now? Just sit and wait? Take action? Sob into my irn bru?

Is it inevitable when you get an alert that blight will appear? Will a dash of Bordeaux now be too little too late? Do you spray it all over, stalks top and bottom of leaves?
