Can anyone help identify the problem with my Cotinus Royal Purple? Many of the leaves are speckled with gold coloured marks. The higher branches seem to be worst affected. Is this a disease or is something else going on?
    Thanks

Welcome to Gardeners Corner Kevin. :)

I've been checking this out on the web and it would seem it's nothing to worry about. The leaves are just starting there natural autumn change and the patterns are usual for Cotinus. :)

Thanks. That's a relief! Was worried that there might be something seriously wrong with it. I've never seen it like this before, although I pruned it really hard in early spring so maybe that had an effect.

The pruning wouldn't make any difference Kevin, it's just the natural cycle before it drops it's leaves. :)
