    Hello all
As you know i'm a novice so bear with me. I have snowdrops in the little bit of soil left in the garden plus some in a container with a rose bush. I've looked them up in a book and they are bulbs, so how do they just appear?

I would like to transfer them to containers to have a bit of colour in this bleak time, but can't understand how they got here.

Understand about birds, wind etc that put seeds down, but bulbs? Don't know how they propergate or whatever the word is!! Anyway, can someone tell me if it's worth moving these or will they die?

    thanks

Hi Borrowers, snowdrops spread by bulbils but also by seed, they just take longer to grow to flowering size. You can lift them out them as soon as the flowers start to fade and whilst the leaf is still green. Just carefully pull the clumps of bulbs apart and replant where you wish, at the same depth and leaving the leaves to die back naturally. [IMG]
