Can anyone tell me where is best to buy snowdrops in the green .

I am involved with our community garden and our aim is to have carpets of snowdrops to make this garden into abeautiful snowdrop walk.

This was a project a year and half ago from ablank canvas turning waste groudn of rubbish and weeds into a community garden.

Its along way away but now this seaon we are ready to prun and tend to and may new paths in our garden.

You may have clumps ater flowering needing spit.

Keep an eye out in gardening magazines, online newspaper websites, gardening websites (Crocus, T*M) and even flyers through the door. All of them will be appearing in mid Spring, offering snowdrops in the green. Not sure what the usual cost for them is - some will be better than others. I've no personal experience of any though.

Hi Scotkat, I haven't seen snowdrops in the green in any of the nurseries near us.
As Sussexgardener says the gardening mags will be full of the adverts for them soon.
They come in many different varieties.

Capney, I had snowdrps blooming in the garden last week :) And yes, it really made my day. Spring cannot be far off. Can it?

Scotkat, you could also try looking in garden centres after the pots of snowdrops they currently have for sale, about to bloom and see if there are any reduced. Our local place continues to sell them as 'snowdrops in the green' after they have finished blooming. Might cost you a bit though!

Yes, all the gardening magazines are advertising them right now, Scotkat. I think the single type are £9 per 100 and the doubles are £12. Good luck with your project.
