Yes, you could say that. But it is all subjective is it not? When I was in a Marketing position, I would meet with different groups of like interests and share what we had done and information and gleam information , where we got what from, what ideas we had, who could help you do what, where something was located, vent our frustrations. And we called it "networking".
So I do think we do all this here.

They didn`t get any from me-it`s probably some sort of brown envelope job, advertising, applications etc nonsense.

    I use facebook.
But I must admit the only reason I do is to keep in touch with my son and daughter in law in Thailand. They are now living out there and facebook appears to be a good medium to post photos and comments on a daily basis.
Likened to a dairy really. They call it write on xxx wall.
I am not bothered with any email spam, nor does it cost me anything.
So in conclusion for myself, using facebook and Skype is a really great way to keep in touch.

Social networking in its purest sense, rather than it's revenue based name sake:wink:

I have a Facebook account...but I agree you can have too much of the zombie bites and virtual this, that and the other...but there is a facility for BLOCKING these applications, I have finally discovered. There are some gardening groups, but I don't they're as active as the non-FB gardening e-mail lists! One I belong to is LONDON GARDENERS...
