What the best soil tester to get the right ph

The best is probably the old fashioned colour indicator method. Where you shake the soil with some water, add an indicator and then compare with a chart.

Also have a look at neighbouring gardens, rhododendrons, camellias etc would indicate acid soil.

 

I used this one last year. Its basic and gives you two tests . If you find it useful you can get a more expensive set.
