Solomon's Seal

I've got both varieties in the garden but the scented one is in a pot. I want to divide the potted one, anyone tell me the best time? When it's finished flowering, or should I wait 'till it's dormant?

 

Polygonatum odoratum "The scented Solomon's seal" is best divided in either October or march time
